A QUIET MOMENT
No one would eat only once in a month or a week. Few eat, by choice, only once a day. We also need periodic spiritual nourishment during the day. The monastic tradition, which descended from Jewish practices, divides the day into sections. Every few hours there is a time to be quiet and listen with our hearts to God. Everyone will be strengthened by one or two times of wordless prayer during the day. The busier we are the more we need it.
